MC / Emcee / Crowd Motivator / DJ Assistant — Part-Time Weekend Position

Who we're looking for:

Must be located in southeastern Michigan, and live within 40 miles of South Lyon. Reliable transportation is required. Must be available on all or most weekends. You must be a very reliable, dependable, outgoing, and have a high-energy personality with exceptional communication skills. Preferred but not required: Vast music knowledge, dance skills, confidence and a commanding microphone presence, ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly and/or the ability to lift 60 pounds.

What you'll be doing:

The job of an emcee / crowd motivator / DJ assistant includes:

Announcing special moments on the microphone — introductions, speeches, candle lighting, and key event highlights
Keeping guests energized, excited, and involved throughout the event through direct interaction and crowd motivation
Maintaining a high-energy atmosphere from start to finish
Leading group and specialty dances
Hosting games and contests
Taking and relaying song requests
Coordinating event details with clients and other vendors before and during the event
Taking photos of guests throughout the evening
Assisting with equipment setup, load-in, and tear-down
Helping DJ Eric with any additional tasks as needed

Compensation: $135–$400 per event (20% of the total event price), depending on event type and length. Details confirmed during the interview process.

Position type: Part-time / Contract. Weekend availability required. Events are primarily Friday evenings and Saturdays, with occasional Sunday and weekday events.

What to expect when you join the team:

New MCs typically shadow experienced MCs at several events before taking the microphone independently. This gives you time to learn the event flow, understand client expectations, and get comfortable with the format before you're on your own. You won't be thrown into the deep end — we want you set up to succeed. The number of events per month varies by season, with peak volume running May through October. Off-season events are lighter but consistent. You'll always know your event schedule in advance so you can plan around your other commitments.

Motivational Dancer — Part-Time Weekend Position

Are you full of energy and love to dance? Love being the center of attention? Then this may be a job for you!

Who we're looking for:

Must be located in southeastern Michigan, preferably within 40 miles of South Lyon. Reliable transportation is required. Must be available on all or most weekends. You must be a friendly, outgoing person with a fun and energetic personality. Shy people need not apply. You must also be a good dancer and are able to teach dance moves to others. Preferred but not required: professional dance experience, current or past college dance major, and/or experience talking in front of a crowd.

What you'll be doing:

The job of a motivational dancer is to help entertain and energize a crowd. You are responsible for teaching dance moves, dancing in groups, by yourself or with a guest who may not have a dance partner. You would also be required to encourage and promote dancing for those who are shy, meet and greet guests, accompany special guests making a grand entrance, help host games, give out prizes / giveaways and help the DJ and/or MC with any other tasks. It would also be preferred if you are able to choreograph dance routines. If you meet all of these requirements, you just may get to join the Stealth DJ's team. Get paid to work and have fun at the same time!

Compensation: $191.25–$425 per event (85% of the total motivational dancer price), depending on event type and length. Details discussed during the interview process.

New motivational dancers typically attend a few events in an observational capacity before jumping in fully. This gives you a chance to see how DJ Eric and the MC run events, understand the energy level we maintain, and get a feel for how we interact with different types of crowds — a prom is very different from a bar mitzvah, which is very different from a wedding. Once you're comfortable with the format, you'll be integrated into events as an active dancer and crowd motivator. Event frequency varies by season, with the busiest stretch running May through October.

Frequently Asked Questions — Working at Stealth DJ's

Is this a full-time or part-time position? Both positions are part-time and contract-based. You work events on a per-event basis, primarily on Friday evenings and Saturdays. There is no minimum guaranteed number of events per month — availability varies by season — but we communicate the schedule well in advance so you can plan accordingly.

Do I need DJ experience to apply for the MC position? No DJ experience is required. The most important qualities are a commanding presence on the microphone, an outgoing personality, and the ability to read and energize a crowd. If you have experience in public speaking, hosting, performing, or working events in any capacity, that's a strong foundation. We train the rest.

What kinds of events will I be working? Weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, quinceañeras, Sweet 16 and birthday parties, school dances, proms, homecomings, and corporate events across Southeast Michigan and occasionally Northwest Ohio.

Where are events located? Events are spread throughout Southeast Michigan — Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, Brighton, Howell, Lansing, Flint, and surrounding areas. You must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to event venues across the region.

Do I need to be available every weekend? We prefer candidates who are available most weekends, particularly Saturdays. Occasional Friday evenings and Sundays are also part of the schedule. The more availability you have, the more events you can work.
